The Stinker

This little girl can be such a stinker. I wish I had a picture of her having one of her tantrums. They are getting more frequent. Maybe this is the beginning of the terrible twos. We now have a daily battle over clothes. The funny thing is that I don't really care what she wears. It isn't a battle of what she will wear in general. If she wants to wear purple poka-dot pants and a red striped shirt, so be it. The battle is whether or not she will wear clothes at all. For a week now she has had huge tantrums over getting dressed. She wants to be "Nee-nee." Last night she had the biggest tantrum of all because she was wearing a button down shirt under a onsie (both are waaaayyyyy too small and she found them in the donate pile) and she didn't want to take them off for her bath. She was kicking, smacking, screaming, and crying. I had to put her in her room just to keep her from flipping out of my arms. At least she is asserting herself, right? But then, once in a while, she stops in the middle of a fit to do something funny, like laugh at the little wooden duck staring at her from across the room.
She also called me "dorky" three times this weekend. I'll post a picture when I have more energy. Nanny is making her whiney little hiss noise at me as she stares from the dark hall. She needs me to take her on a walk. She refuses to poo in our back yard. Weird kids.

The Thinker

Whenever we go to new places with lots of people, Augi quietly takes it all in. I don't ever remember being this way. Maybe she gets it from Chris. She seems to enjoy being there, but she is so quiet and spends most of her time watching the other children. After about an hour, she will jump right in and act like a crazy little monkey. I wish I could know what she is thinking when she sits and watches.
We went to Liberty park with Patricia and her girls this week. It was great. I forgot to bring a swim diaper, so Augi went in the water with a regular diaper. The signs told me this is forbidden--for sanitary reasons. Well, she hardly got in the water so I am not feeling too bad. A few people gave us dirty looks. Oh-well. She enjoyed herself. We will go again soon. I bet she will be much more comfortable the second time. She talked about this little turtle last night. She loved that it was just her size. When her daddy asked her about it, she told him it was "Tend." That is Augish for pretend.
An old friend sent me some pictures of his two children today. His daughter is three, his son just a few months old. It made me think about having another. Maybe sometime soon. I don't know. When I showed Augi the pictures, she told me she wanted to hold the baby in the photo.

First Sleepover

Augi and Dayton are having a sleepover tonight. When we got to Dayton's house to pick him up, Augi refused to get out of the car because she wanted us to immediately get Dayton and head home. After dinner at Gramma-Grammpa's house, we finally got home. The kids took a bath (I will save this for blackmail when they are older.), read books and jumped on the bed, gave good night kisses, and settled down for sleep. Augi had a few tantrums along the way. She screamed because Dayton peed on his jammies after the bath and I rinsed them and put them in the dryer. She was very concerned that he might not wear jammies like her. Then, she had a fit because she wanted water in her sippie cup rather than water.

Dayton fell asleep immediately. It is now 10:30 p.m. and Augi is in her play house with Bailee changing baby doll diapers. She was up at 3:50 am this morning, so she had two naps today and she is totally screwed up. Oh well. Her first sleep over is fun anyway. Augi and Dayton will be in the same grade in school. It would be fun if they could go to the same school. Although, I was in the same 4th grade class as my cousin Justin. The kids would all tease us because we walked home together. 4th grade boys and girls aren't supposed to speak, I guess.

I have the cutest picture of Augi doing dishes nakie-nakie. I will have to figure out how to restrict access to the blog so I can put it up. Maybe I'll just email it. She is such a nudest.

No Title Today

I can't think of a title. Just more pictures of my cute kiddo. She was seriously the Augi Monster for a few days. She has been such a turkey that I was tempted to give her up for adoption. (I'm only kidding Abbie--don't get your hopes up.) But, today my sweet little girl was back. Maybe we were both more rested. Maybe it was just that my 2nd nagging migraine in less than a month was under control. She woke up this morning and patted Nanny as she said, "Hi baby Nanny. Cuddle me?" We spent ALL MORNING cleaning and putting together her slide. I had all but one side put together. I worked on that last side for at least an hour before I called for backup. Then, Chris came and ta-da, it was finished in less than 30 seconds. Silly boys. I guess they are good for something.

This picture was taken at the petting zoo. Those little pygmy goats are adorable. Augi was in heaven.

We went hiking for a while. Augi did pretty well. Playing in the water was fun. It was hot, but the water was cool.

Lazy Summer?

My summer breaks are anything but lazy. I don't know how to have a lazy summer. I have fun, though. Augi is super clingy these days. She is so confused about why she is with me every single day and unsure about when we might drop her off at daycare. I expected this would happen, but it is hard. I'm sure she will adjust soon enough. Her new favorite play activities this week include "dress up" (there is a dress up page in one of her books), train tracks, and of course---the always loveable babies. But, now the babies must be dressed rather than naked. Hmm. Augi's favorite word is now "Dammit!!" Chris says that is what happens when she spends a week with me. I say he needs to clean up his language.

The bunnies are adorable! $50 will get you one of your own to take home. My cuz' Colton gets one, I am keeping one, and we have 4 to go to new homes mid-July. Hey--I am thinking the luau will be July 28 this year. I have been tempted to cancel the whole thing. It was so big last year and I didn't get to visit with anyone. I felt like I spent the whole party searching for ladels. But, I will do it. Augi will love having everyone here. I love the food. Go ahead--put it on your calendar.

Ron and Gail are here from Colorado. Augi loves entertaining. Today we went to the big mines. It was windy. The best part about it for Augi was running around the various statues singing "Reno pa-too" (That is Ring Around the Rosies in Augish)

Bunnies everywhere

The bunnies are so cute now. Fuzzy and all. They are all a redish brown color, except one light gray one. I think we will keep the light gray bunny. One of them seems to be a little gimpy. We call it Ed.

I tried to get some pics of Dayton and Augi holding the babies. Yeah right. A one year old, two year old, and 6 baby bunnies.
